アドヴァイザーとしてこれまで制作にたずさわった主なテレビドキュメンタリー映画 

Closely involved in an advisory and/or organizational capacity in the making of the following documentary films:

 

1) CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) documentary film, The Fence, was broadcast in Canada on December 6, 2020. The film focuses on the brutal treatment of Canadian POWs by the Japanese forces in Hong Kong during the Pacific War. 太平洋戦時中、日本軍による香港のカナダ兵捕虜虐待に関するドキュメンタリー映画。   

 

2) ZDF TV of ARD documentary film, “Pacific War: der Krieg geht weiter,” was broadcast in Germany on July 26, 2015.

 

3) NHK (Japan Broadcasting Commission) ETV documentary film, ヒロシマ:爆心地の原子力平和利用博覧会(Hiroshima: The Atoms for Peace Exhibition in the Atomic Bombed City), was broadcast in Japan on October 18, 2014.

 

4) Documentary film entitled Singapore 1942: End of Empire, Episode 1 & 2. This film, produced by Electric Pictures (Western Australia), was broadcast on BBC 2 on February 7 and 14, 2012.

 

5) NHK (Japan Broadcasting Commission) TV BS1 documentary film, 東部ニューギニア 絶望の密林戦 (East New Guinea: Fighting Without Hope in the Jungle), was broadcast in Japan on March 28, 2009.

 

6) A video report entitled “Rearming Japan” for the on-line edition of the New York Times, posted on July 23, 2007.

 

7) A documentary film on the conduct of Japanese troops in New Guinea during World War II, entitled Cannibalism: Extreme Survival. This film, produced by Engel Entertainment Corporation (New York), was broadcast on the History Channel in the U.S. on September 22, 2006.

 

8) The BBC TV documentary series entitled Horror in the East, was broadcast in the U.K. on December 4 and 5, 2000.

 

9) Chukyo TV documentary film, 声閉ざされて、そして:インドネシアの慰安婦たち (Their Voices Were Suppressed: Indonesian Comfort Women), was broadcast in Japan on May 24, 1997.

 

10) NHK (Japan Broadcasting Commission) TV documentary film, アジアの慰安婦たち (Asian Comfort Women), was broadcast in Japan on December 18, 1996.

 

11) ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission) TV documentary film, Return to Sandakan. This film, which focused on atrocities committed by Japanese military forces against Australian and British POWs in north Borneo, was broadcast in Australia on the program “True Stories” on November 12, 1995.

 

12) NHK TV documentary film, 死者たちの声:大岡昇平のレイテ戦記 (Voices of the Dead: A Record of the Leyte Battle by Shohei Ohoka), was broadcast in Japan on August 14, 1995.

 

13) ABC TV documentary film, The Forgotten Force: Australian Occupation Force in Japan, broadcast in Australia, on the program “True Stories” on July 31, 1994.

 

14)  RCC (Hiroshima) TV documentary film, もう一つの真珠湾攻撃 (Another Pearl Harbour Attack), was broadcast in Japan on December 8, 1991, the 50th anniversary of the Japanese Imperial Forces’ attack on Pearl Harbour.

 

15)  オーストラリアの毒ガス人体実験 (Human Experiments with Gas Weapons in Australia), was broadcast in Japan on TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting Service, a nation-wide network) in December 1989.

 

16)  核とブーメラン (Atomic-bombs and Boomerangs), a film detailing the effects of the A-bomb tests in Australia upon Aborigines and Australian soldiers in the 1950s. This film was broadcast in Japan on TBS on August 6 (Hiroshima Day), 1989.
